What a good lamp actually costs in Kenya.
Lamp pricing in Kenya is confusing because the listings rarely compare the same thing. One price includes a bulb and another doesn't. One is a moulded import, another is finished by hand. Below is our full price list, plus an honest read on where the rest of the market sits.
Every price here includes a warm, dimmable LED, free Nairobi CBD pickup, and a 12-month warranty on body and wiring. Prefer colour? Add an RGB bulb — 16 colours with a remote — for KSh 1,000. Countrywide delivery is a flat KSh 400.

European studio names, landed with duty and freight. Beautiful, and priced for it — replacement parts mean shipping and waiting.
What's actually in the price
- A warm dimmable LED, fitted. 2700K, the colour of a low incandescent. Bought separately that's usually KSh 400–900.
- Free pickup in Nairobi CBD, or KSh 400 delivery countrywide. Same-day in Nairobi, 1–2 days elsewhere.
- 12-month warranty on body and wiring, honoured from Nairobi — not a form emailed overseas.
- A replaceable bulb in a standard E27 fitting, so the lamp outlives the LED in it.
Questions people actually ask about price
- How much does a table lamp cost in Kenya?
- Broadly three bands. Marketplace and supermarket lamps run about KSh 1,500–3,000 — usually moulded plastic or thin pressed metal, bulb sold separately. Handmade and studio-made lamps sit around KSh 2,500–7,000. Imported designer lighting starts near KSh 20,000 and climbs. Our range is KSh 2,500–KSh 6,499, bulb and warranty included.
- Why is a handmade lamp more than a marketplace one?
- Three costs a KSh 1,800 lamp avoids: a warm dimmable LED in the box rather than a bare socket, a body finished by hand instead of moulded in bulk, and a 12-month warranty someone in Nairobi actually honours. The gap narrows quickly once you buy a bulb separately and replace a failed lamp inside a year.
- Is a cheaper lamp from Jumia or Kilimall better value?
- Sometimes, if you need a lamp for a season and nothing more. What you usually give up is light quality — most budget lamps ship cool white, which reads harsh at night — plus a bulb you buy yourself, and no practical recourse when the switch fails. We would rather say that plainly than pretend the price difference isn't real.
- Do lamp prices include delivery in Kenya?
- Pickup is free at our Nairobi CBD pickup point (Travis Business Center, Mfangano Street), typically ready within 24 hours. Delivery is a flat KSh 400 anywhere in Kenya — same-day within Nairobi, typically 1–2 days upcountry.
- Does the price include a bulb?
- Yes, and this is where most price comparisons quietly break. Every lamp ships with a warm 2700K dimmable LED fitted. A comparable bulb bought separately is usually KSh 400–900, so a lamp advertised without one is not as cheap as it looks.
- Can I pay in instalments or on delivery?
- Pay-on-delivery is available within Nairobi. Everywhere else, you can pay via M-Pesa Buy Goods when you order, or ask us on WhatsApp and we will work out something that suits.
